The Story

Are you a newcomer looking for: Canadian volunteer work experience? Information about library and other community services? A way to give back to your community? Better communication skills? More confidence? New friends and connections? A better understanding of your community? Become a Library Champion! Library Champions Project is a three month volunteer program. Through the project, Library Champions will gain a better understanding of the resources, services, and programs that Richmond Public Library provides. They will be trained on communication, presentation and outreach skills and use these skills to conduct outreach to promote the library's resources, services, and programs to other members of the community. Registration for the Fall 2026 cycle has now closed.  Please check  https://newtobc.ca/  for Spring 2027 Cycle registration. Accessibility RPL is working to reduce barriers and offer programs where everyone can participate equitably. Please click here to email and let us know how we might make your library experience more comfortable and accessible. Information about the library’s accessible services can be found on our website, click here to explore more . Promotional Photo Guidelines Library representatives may take photos and videos for promotional purposes. If you prefer not to be photographed, please speak to a staff member. If you have any questions, please connect with library staff.
