Good to know.

What is there to do in Coquitlam today?

Check the events rail above first: Coquitlam runs one of the busiest civic calendars in Metro Vancouver, most of it around Town Centre Park and the library plaza. Lafarge Lake’s loop is a safe default any evening, and it’s lit up beautifully after dark in winter.

Where do locals eat in Coquitlam?

Austin Heights for old-school diners, sushi and the Como Lake strip, and the North Road corridor shared with Burnaby for Korean barbecue, gukbap and late-night dessert cafes. Town Centre covers the newer food halls and bubble tea.

Is Lafarge Lake worth visiting?

Yes, and it’s easy: the SkyTrain stops beside it at Lafarge Lake-Douglas. The 1.2 km loop takes twenty minutes, Town Centre Park around it hosts festivals all summer, and the winter Lights at Lafarge display is free.
