In acknowledgement of Climate Action Week, Richmond Public Library's Film Club invites you to join us for a screening of the great post apocalyptic sci fi favorite Interstellar ! Please note: popcorn will be served with the movie. This Film Club is for ages 18 and up About the Film: Set in a dystopian future where Earth is slowly becoming uninhabitable due to catastrophic crop blights, a former NASA pilot named Joseph Cooper is recruited to lead a desperate mission through a newly discovered wormhole. Alongside a small crew of scientists, he travels across the galaxy to find a habitable planet capable of sustaining the human race. As they journey closer to a massive black hole, the crew faces extreme gravitational anomalies and intense time dilation that causes hours on foreign worlds to equal decades back home. Driven by a profound love for his children left behind on Earth, Cooper navigates deep space and higher dimensions to transmit vital quantum data. Ultimately, the mission bridges the gap between science and human connection, offering humanity a glimmer of hope for a fresh start among the stars.
