What to Bring & Insider Tips
Insider Tips
- 💡
Arrive early on summer weekends — parking fills up fast. Pay lots charge ~$3.75/hour in spring/summer.
- 💡
Swim in the heated saltwater pool (137m long!) instead of the ocean — ocean water peaks at only 16°C in July.
- 💡
Bring a picnic for the Showboat — free outdoor performances run Wed-Sun at 7 PM from mid-June to mid-August.
- 💡
The tennis courts are free and first-come-first-served — 10 courts plus 2 basketball courts available.
- 💡
Use transit (bus routes 2 and 22 on Cornwall Ave) or cycle via the Seaside Greenway to avoid the summer parking crunch.
- 💡
Check Vancouver Coastal Health water quality results online before swimming — advisories can occur after heavy rain.
