The Experience
Takaya Tours offers guided paddle experiences, primarily focusing on traditional Indigenous canoe journeys. Operating from Cates Park in North Vancouver, these tours provide participants with an opportunity to connect with the natural environment of the Burrard Inlet and learn about the cultural heritage of the Tsleil-Waututh Nation. The experience emphasizes storytelling, cultural teachings, and a unique perspective of the local waters from a traditional canoe. The tours are designed to be accessible to a range of participants, offering a blend of gentle paddling and immersive cultural education. Guests can expect to learn about the history and significance of the area, as well as the traditional uses of the land and water. It's an educational and reflective journey, distinct from typical recreational paddling.
