Whim for Destinations
Built on your destination knowledge, shaped by the visitor’s moment. Whim starts with what you already publish, adds approved local context, and surfaces what fits the visitor’s time, location, weather and plans.

Live now with Tourism Burnaby
For the Burnaby Halloween Festival, Tourism Burnaby's site has a "Plan my Halloween in Burnaby" button. Visitors get an event, somewhere nearby to eat and a sweet finish, built from the festival programme and Tourism Burnaby's own restaurant list, checked against their listings every day.
Proactive, not a question box
Whim starts with the visitor’s moment: where they are, how much time they have, the weather and what’s happening nearby. Useful ideas appear immediately, with conversation there when they want it.

Illustrative example. In a live deployment, every detail comes from current local sources.
How it works
Your events, partners, places, campaigns, neighbourhoods and editorial priorities define the destination experience. Whim starts with what your team already maintains, then adds useful local detail where it helps.

Your content defines the destination. Whim adds the everyday detail that makes it useful right now.
Choose which additional local and regional sources Whim may use.
Feature the campaigns, events, neighbourhoods and partners that matter to you.
Set geography, categories, exclusions and eligibility rules.
Keep recommendations aligned with your destination’s brand and editorial point of view.
Public local information can support any relevant Whim experience. Your organization’s own content stays in your deployment unless you choose to share it.
A demonstration destination
Alder Bay is a fictional harbour town we built to show the range. The live layer sits inside the destination's own site and changes with the time, the weather and what's on.
The visitor moment
The same destination can produce a completely different answer at 10 a.m. in the sun, 4 p.m. in the rain, or 7 p.m. with two hungry kids.
Try the context
Whim reshapes the experience around the visitor’s real situation, while keeping your priorities and editorial voice in control.

Three timely ideas, all close enough to combine.
Optional
Whim can also provide a conversational layer powered by the same destination content, approved local sources and real-time context.
Not a generic chatbot. The same destination intelligence, available conversationally.
Two good options close by, both under cover until the rain clears at 4.
A mobile visitor centre
The same experience opens from your website, a campaign link, a neighbourhood sign, an event QR or the visitor centre counter. Each entry point starts in the right context, on the visitor’s phone, with no app to download.
An always-current “what fits now” layer on the pages you already run.

Staff and visitors start from the same live picture of today.
The same experience can appear on partner surfaces. Partner-owned deployments stay separate unless agreed otherwise.
Shops, cafés, parks and what’s on, from right where you’re standing.
Find food, nearby stops and local experiences before or after.
From the harbour counters to local favourites, find what fits the moment.
Turn a free afternoon into a plan that fits the time and the weather.
Printed pieces never name specific businesses, so nothing goes stale. Each placement counts its own scans.
